The platform grew from real challenges within Boarding Houses into practical, working solutions. Today, it delivers a secure, intuitive system with full data-residency compliance, designed specifically for Boarding Schools, internationally.
Our Story
Jock Walker-Campbell grew up on a cattle farm in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, attending boarding school from Year 1, eventually graduating as a boarder at Maritzburg College. Boarding life was therefore something he understood both as a student and later as an educator.
After further studies and starting a young family, Jock worked in boarding schools in Johannesburg before relocating to Queensland, Australia. Over the years he served in several boarding communities including Charters Towers, Geraldton, Rockhampton, and Townsville, working as both a teacher and Director of Boarding.
During these years he saw first-hand how complex boarding operations could be, and how little purpose-built software existed to support boarding staff.
Over the years and in several boarding communities, Jock began developing a simple tool to help manage the daily operations of a boarding house. What started as a spreadsheet and Microsoft Access database gradually evolved into the secure, cloud-based platform we have today.
Since those early days, several other boarding management systems have entered the market – reflecting the growing importance of well-designed digital systems for modern boarding schools.

Jock is a lifelong boarder who has a deep understanding of boarding school communities. He combines his Degree in Residential Care with extensive teaching experience from South African, Western Australian, and Queensland Boarding Schools.
Jeanie Walker-Campbell
- Co-Founder and Technology Lead
Jeanie is an accomplished Computer Science Professional and Academic. Her technical expertise transformed Jack’s initial concept into a robust cloud system. Jeanie ensures BSS stays at the cutting edge technology, security and data privacy.
Marion MacKenzie
- Marketing and Communications
Marion brings fresh perspective with her Multimedia Journalism background. She helps schools understand how BSS can transform their operations and parent communication.
